Welcome to the Tuttle Creek ORV Area ! The Corps of Engineers welcomes you to the Tuttle Creek Lake Off Road Vehicle Area. This 310 acre park is open to all motorized and non- motorized vehicles. Miles of trails with s teep climbs, sharp turns, and rugged terrain await the off-road enthusiast.
The Corps has established a few basic rules to help ensure that all users will enjoy a safe visit. We solicit your cooperation in adhering to these rules.
Use only existing trails. Do not break new trails or expand existing trails.
An access road from the entrance to the park to the bottom of the main valley provide s ready access to the rest of the park by all levels of ORV use rs. This road is also intended to allow emergency vehicle access in the event of an injur y or other emergency. Refrain from spinning tires and other actions that might degrade this road.
Respect private property by keeping out of it. The adjacent map identifies the boundaries wher e off road vehicles may be operated. The boundary line is delineated with yellow posts and identification signs. If you encounter these signs, a barbed wire fence or rock wall, you are approaching either private property or the limits of the designated r iding area. Do not proceed any further.
This is a day-use only recreation area. The park is open from 9 am to sunset. No camping or overnight use is permitted. The nearest campground is Fancy Creek State Park, four road miles north.
Since there are no provisions for fires, open fires are not allowed. An illegal campfire escaped in 1994, burning hundreds of acres of public and private property.
Alcohol and firearms are prohibited in this park. We urge you to tread lightly; please refrain from using the area when the ground is soft and muddy. Riding on wet trails greatly hastens their erosion and eventual demise. Also, do not ride up and down the creek beds or along the shoreline.
There is a 10 mph speed limit in the staging areas. This is a primitive area, with minimal trail maintenance, so always ride with utmost caution . All cyclists, ATV riders, and those in open vehicles without rollbars must wear DoT -approved hel mets. Remember that use of this area is at your own risk. Be safe and enjoy your return visit.
